Asia, when you start thinking about Asia, the first country that comes into the mind is China, then India and then Japan. They think very differently from the rest of the world. They consider a human to be a human first and then a identity. Why? is a question that pops into minds. The answer may lie in the history of this country. Here the first thing thought to a child is to respect others, to learn from elders, to follow the path of saints. The child may grow up from here in any environment, any culture, and country, however the basics are very clear and the vision is drawn from the first lesson of the life.

Different cultures and their take on a red wedding dress

June 29, 2010 |15:28 | Asian Cultures  By : Team X

In America, red has some conflicting connotations. Some Western brides and their families find it almost offensive. A lot of this sentiment against red comes from the powerful influential Queen Victoria back in the 1800s. Red has warped from a luxury color to being associated to hussies and possibly even prostitutions. In Europe, countries such as England have started adopting red more now.

In France, it used to be considered very bad luck to be married in white. Marie Antoniate chose white instead of the customary red and that did not work out very well.In China, the color red is considered good luck and a strong color that can keep away evil spirits.

Getting Married in ChinaMarriages in China are registered according to the laws of China, regardless of the nationality of those being married. The current Marriage Law of the People's Republic of China was passed in September 1980 and went into force on January 1, 1981. Under this law, marriage registration procedures are administered by the local civil affairs office minzhengju, in each jurisdiction.

Persons planning to marry should visit one of these offices for specific information. If one of the partners is a Chinese citizen, the appropriate civil affairs office will be the one in the jurisdiction in which the Chinese citizen is registered (the location of the hukou). If both are foreigners, it will be the civil affairs office in the city in which they live. In general, at least one of the partners must reside in China.
