Award-winning fashion designer Georgina Chapman may be in the running to create Kate Middleton’s wedding dress. The 34-year-old previously designed Coleen Rooney’s £100,000 wedding dress, and her Marchesa label, a favourite of A-listers including Sandra Bullock and Penelope Cruz, already has Royal fans in Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie.‘It makes sense as Georgina is British and went to Marlborough, the same school as Kate,’ says my source. ‘The dresses are stunning yet simple.’Other designers in the running include Bruce Oldfield, who created gowns for Princess Diana, Brazilian label Issa and Chelsea dressmaker Philippa Lepley.
