Palestine resident Vicki Fox got her own Christmas miracle this holiday season, thanks to the help of the Palestine Police Department. Fox’s story begins two years ago, she said, when she was mugged in Palestine. The suspect robbed, beat and cut her and stole a large amount of money from her. “But that was not the worst thing he did,” Fox said. “He took my wedding ring and that totally devastated me.

“The police were called and took all the information I could give them, but I had no hope of ever seeing any of it again.”But all that changed on Dec. 13, when Fox found her rings in a local pawn shop. She immediately contacted the Palestine Police Department to check it out.

“I gave proof that these, in fact, were my rings, only to be told it would probably be after the first of the year before I could get them back,” she said. “You can imagine my disappointment. But I had waited two years, so what’s another few weeks?”

Just a short time later, Fox received another call from the Palestine Police Department. “They told me that, after everything I had been through, they wanted me to have my wedding rings back before Christmas,” Fox said. “One week after my rings were found, I again had my husband slide them back on my finger.”Fox was extremely grateful to the Palestine Police Department for all of their efforts in returning her rings, and for the thankless hard work they do every day.

“And I would like to thank them all for giving me my very own Christmas miracle,” she said. “It was truly the best Christmas present I ever received. God bless and thank you.”
